Event Details

The Cheyenne International Film Festival (CIFF) offers audiences an opportunity to see films from around the world and network with and learn from producers, director, writers and photographers. In its first year, there were 35 films from around the world screening at the Historic Atlas Theatre in downtown Cheyenne.

CIFF is using Eventbrite for it's film entry registration Process. Any reference to "Tickets" means "Film Entry".

GENERAL MOVIE SELECTION GUIDELINES
1. Movies must have been completed on or after January 1, 2009.

2. All movies must be submitted as high-resolution  video and ACC audio files  - either HD or SD. The following video file formats are the preferred for 2011

* AVI (Xvid, AVC, MPEG1/2/4)
* MPG/MPEG
* VOB/ISO
* MP4/MOV (MPEG4, h.264)
* WMV9 (VC-1)

If we can't play your movie, it won't be seen.
3. Mark each File with the title, run time, your contact information, entry category.
4. A media kit isn't required, but remember to include 100 word synopsis of your project.
5. All entries will are the property of CIFF, hard drives will be returned at the producers' expense.
6. CIFF isn't responsible for files damaged during shipment. At the discretion of CIFF, a replacement may be requested from the entrant - shipping costs are paid by the entrant.
7. Hard Drives will be returned to the producer at the producer's expense.
8. CIFF reserves the right to interpret the guidelines and enforce them at its discretion. They can be changed without notice, so keep checking back.

OPT OUT OF PUBLICITY AND PROMOTION

Entrants agree that all information about their movie or screenplay may be published electronically on the festival web page, on TV,  and trailers; and all hard copy materials including but not limited to newspaper ads, programs, posters.

Movies may be shown in part or their entirety on non-commercial or educational TV and tentatively titled "CIFF Presents", or in off-season promotional screenings. This is an "opt out" system. You may opt out by sending an email to the festival upon notification.

CIFF MISSION

The mission of CIFF is to encourage and celebrate the art of film and digital media through creative forums for artistic and social awareness in the community served. We want to bring the community together to discuss their stories.

Through partnerships with Downtown Cheyenne, the Downtown Cheyenne Merchants’ Association, the Wyoming Film Office, the City of Cheyenne, and the Cheyenne Area Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, CIFF creates a strong community-based infrastructure to support film and digital media.

Our main goal is to democratize the movie business and create a space for movie makers to screen their works. On the first day of CIFF a seminar about the film and digital media art businesses that includes a workshop during which participants will produce short films.

CIFF is a production of Wyoming Community Media (WCM). WCM is 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to nurturing and growing the film community in the Rocky Mountain West and make film and digital media accessible to all.

Wyoming Community Media (WCM)

WCM produces the Cheyenne International Film Festival and The Shoot Out Cheyenne 24 Hour Filmmaking Festival as well as providing other digital media-related services. WCM doesn’t directly save whales or protect children, but empowers others to attain their goals and missions through training, digital media production services, fiscal agency, live event planning and implementation through social media marketing strategies.

Event Development and Implementation
WCM produces the annual Shoot Out Cheyenne 24 Hour Filmmaking festival in the fall. The event attracted 21 film making production crews to Downtown Cheyenne. The top 10 films were screened at the Lincoln Theater.

Community-Based Training and Out of School Learning

WCM provides training services to students of all ages in Southeast Wyoming and beyond. Training may be on an individual basis or for groups.


Fiscal Agency – Co-Production – Event Production

WCM sponsors and co-produces projects for individuals or organizations without 501(c)(3) status. Non-profit status provides many benefits: productions be covered under the WCM liability insurance, be eligible for grants from foundations and the government, investors in your project can enjoy a tax exempt donation as allowed by law.
